POLITICAL TAX CREDIT FOR INDIVIDUALS
All Ontarians are eligible for generous refundable tax credits when they make provincial political contributions, payable to the contributor whether or not they have taxable income.
In 2026, you may give:
(1) $5000 total combined for all provincial parties (like OLP)
(2) $3425 total combined to all constituency associations and nomination contestants (like BQPLA)
(3) In an election year, you can also give $3425 total combined to all candidates (like local BQPLA Candidate)
(4) In a Leadership election year, you can also give $3425 to all candidates
Note that the maximum tax credit is $1698.08 for all your total Ontario political donations.
To get the maximum tax credit, you will have to donate $3865 total in Ontario political contributions.
- Donations between 0 and $509.42: give you a 75% tax credit
- Donations between $509.42 and $1698.08: give you $382.07 plus 50% of any amount over $509.42
- Donations between $1698.08 and $3865.00: give you $594.33 plus 33.33% of any amount over $1698.08
